Ingredients to make Bugnes or French doughnuts

  • 1 1/2 tsp dried active yeast
  • 500 grams flour
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 60 grams granulated sugar
  • zest of two lemons
  • 80 grams butter, melted
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • Oil for frying
  • Icing sugar for dusting

How to make Bugnes or French doughnuts

  1. Combine yeast and water together. Keep aside until frothy almost 15 minutes.
