Ingredients to make Bhutte ki Kees

  • 2 corn cobs/200gms corn kernels
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Pinch of asafoetida
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp Cuminseeds
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 finely chopped green chilly
  • 1/4 tsp turmericpowder
  • 1/4 tsp chillipowder(optional)
  • 1 tsp Grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp grated coconut
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 lemonjuice
  • 1 tbsp Finely chopped corriander
  • 1 strawberry for garnish

How to make Bhutte ki Kees

  1. Grind corn kernels coarsely in a blender. If you have corn cob then grate it with hand grater.(Prefer using corn cob and grating it for best results)
  2. In a pan heat oil and add mustard seeds, asafoetida and cumin seeds.
  3. As they sparkle add green chillies, ginger and corn paste.
  4. Add salt and turmeric powder and cook it for a while till its colour changes.
  5. Now add milk and cook till it becomes dry.
  6. Switch off the flame and add lemon juice, 1/2 tbsp corriander, 1/2 tbsp coconut and mix.
  7. Transfer to the serving dish and garnish with chopped corriander and coconut.
  8. Garnish with strawberry on top and enjoy it fresh and hot.

My Tip:

You can also make it spicy or add 1 tsp sugar as per taste and add pomegranate kernels as well.
