Aloo Matar in Green Gravy

Ingredients to make Aloo Matar in Green Gravy

  • Fresh green peas 1 cup
  • potatoes 2
  • Fresh coriander leaves 1 cup
  • green chillies 3
  • ginger 1 inch
  • garlic 5 to 6 segments
  • onion 1
  • Grated coconut 3 tbsp
  • oil 1 tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • Garam masala powder 1 tsp
  • water as required
  • cream to garnish

How to make Aloo Matar in Green Gravy

  1. Grind the coriander leaves, green chillies, ginger, garlic, onion and coconut into a fine paste by using a little water.
  2. Take the oil in a cooker, add the paste and stir for about a minute.
  3. Then add green peas, potato cubes, salt and garam masala.
  4. Stir and mix well.
  5. Add about 1 glass of water and cover the cooker, allow it to cool till 3 whistles blow.
  6. Serve it hot with a garnish of cream.

My Tip:

You can also use frozen peas if fresh ones are not available.
