Ingredients to make Chocolate Steamed Cakes In Idli Moulds

  • all purpose flour 1/2 cup
  • Cocoa powder 1 tbsp
  • egg 1
  • Baking Powder 1 tsp
  • milk 3 tbsp
  • sugar 4 tbsp
  • walnuts chopped or powdered 2 tbsp ( I powdered them)
  • Canola oil or any Cooking oil 2 tbsp

How to make Chocolate Steamed Cakes In Idli Moulds

  1. Whisk the egg with milk, oil and sugar.
  2. Add in the flour and the cocoa powder.
  3. Grease the idli moulds and steam them for 10 mins. Check them by inserting a skewer after 10 mins.

My Tip:

I used measuring cup here. Also you can use chopped nuts of your choice other than walnuts. Do not remove the cakes immediately. They should be kept covered after the stipulated 10 mins in order to not to let the steam escape. Your cakes will be more fluffier that way. Happy Steaming Friends.
